Talk a Walk on The Pier

Taking a stroll on The Redondo Beach Pier is a great way to spend a lazy day with the family. There are ample shopping opportunities for both tourist kitsch and upscale goods. Just make sure you visit on an empty stomach. Great restaurants abound, especially if you like seafood. The kids will love the Pier’s classic arcade games, or they can take a spin on the Tilt-a-Whirl. Parking is cheap and plentiful and the views can’t be beat. Plan your trip.  Plan your trip.

Get Lost in the Wilderness

If you are looking for a few hours of refuge from urban living, load the family in the car and head to Hopkins Wilderness Park. This 11-acre park is an oasis located in the costal hills of Redondo Beach which features commanding views of the surrounding landscape. Romp and explore while you enjoy streams, ponds and forests in undisturbed terrain. Go for a Swim

On a hot summer day in Redondo Beach, it’s always a nice to cool off with a swim. If you have youngsters though, a safer option than the beach is Seaside Lagoon. This public pool is open from May to September and provides lifeguard supervised swimming areas in addition to children’s play equipment, a snack bar, restaurant and volleyball courts. There are also grass areas and shelters for events and picnics.

Celebrate the Holidays

When Christmas time rolls around in Redondo Beach, by the water is where you want to be. The Redondo Beach Marina and the King Harbor Yacht Club both hold lighted boat parades that are free and can be viewed from the along the pier, marina or the break wall. For a both fun and educational experience, check out the SEA Lab, an educational science center in Redondo Beach that offers low-cost programs for all ages.
